Radio Communication (RT Operator)
A flight plan is submitted a few days before the start of the drone flights in controlled airspace. This flight plan contains all important information regarding the planned drone flights. If the flight plan has been approved by LVNL (Air Traffic Control the Netherlands), the drone operation can start in the CTR. During the entire operation, we are in radio contact with the control tower in question.

Is my project located in controlled airspace?
The vast majority of the Netherlands is located in open airspace. There you can fly a drone undisturbed in most places. Controlled airspace can only be found around airports (CTRs) and at high altitudes. In addition to CTRs, there are also other areas where flying a drone presents challenges. In some places, it is never even allowed to fly. To see if your project is in a special airspace, take a look at our drone map. This interactive map is specially made for drones. If you have any doubts or questions, please do not hesitate to contact us!

Drone flying near airports
It makes a lot of sense that flying a drone near an airport comes with some challenges. This is because there is always a chance that a drone and an airplane will collide. To reduce the chance of this, the laws and regulations state that flying drones in controlled airspace (CTR) around airports is only allowed if the drone pilot is in possession of the correct authorization, paper and radiotelephony set.
LHE Media is authorized to operate in controlled airspace.

In addition to being responsible for radio traffic, I always provide a cheerful note if the situation allows it and help out as an observer where necessary.
